Today, I want to talk to you about some of the best advice that nobody ever told you. When you were in school, your parents maybe didn’t share this with you, and it’s going to make a massive difference to your relationship. Now, this is really simple, but there’s a difference between simple and easy. Simple is not easy; simple means not complicated.
The best piece of advice that nobody ever gave you was that men and women are different species, and they speak different languages. Women don’t want what men want, and men don’t want what women want. Here’s the thing you have to understand: we speak different languages. If you’re a man, you need to learn how to speak woman. If you’re a woman, you need to learn how to speak man. Otherwise, there will be constant conflict.
You’ve got to understand that men and women communicate in different ways and have different needs. They also communicate those needs differently. When you understand this, it becomes really easy to get your needs met.
For example, if you want more sex, passion, and intimacy in your relationship, it’s really easy. You just need to learn what a woman wants, how to communicate with her, and give her what she wants. When you give a woman what she wants, you will get everything you want in return. The same is true in the other direction.
If you’re a woman and you’re looking for more emotional intimacy, connection, understanding, and communication from your man, he wants to give you that. But you’ve got to learn how to communicate with him in a way that he understands what you want.
A man is not a woman. A woman instinctively communicates what she needs, and another woman understands her right away because they speak the same language. But for a man, it means something completely different. It’s a different language.
So, it’s very easy to think that you’re communicating your needs to your partner effectively, but if you’re not skilled at this or haven’t had training in communication and relationship communication, it’s easy to think that your partner doesn’t care or ignores your needs when, in reality, they just don’t understand what your needs are.
So, the first thing you have to consider if your needs are not being met is: Am I effectively communicating what I need to my partner? Assume that the answer is no. This person is with you because they love you. They’re not there to make you miserable.
If they knew what you wanted, they would probably give it to you. The number one piece of advice that we were never given is that communication is the key to the relationship, and men and women speak different languages.
