So, what are the benefits of couples therapy if you’re separated? Hi, Cody here from Better Marriage. Today, I want to discuss why you might want to consider couples therapy in such a situation. The answer is simple: the same mindset that caused the separation won’t be the one that reunites the marriage. Whatever issues were present in the marriage, leading to the separation, will still persist. You and your partner are still the same people. If you genuinely want to change and transform the marriage, you need to transform yourselves and acquire new skills to apply to the relationship.
During a separation, there may be moments when you miss each other and feel the desire to reconcile. However, the reality is that if you haven’t developed new communication skills or acquired other necessary skills during the separation, you’ll encounter the same problems and arguments when you reunite.
Nothing will change. That’s why it’s essential to invest in developing marriage skills while you’re separated. It’s a wise and beneficial decision because when you eventually come back together, you’ll have the skills needed to give the marriage a fighting chance.
Now, what are your thoughts on having marriage counseling while separated? Let me know in the comments what you think about that. If you want more free training on improving your marriage and creating a strong bond, check out the links in the description. I have some fantastic free training sessions for you.
Together, we can make a difference in many marriages. That’s all from me. Bless you all, and we’ll see you soon.
