How To Increase Communication, Have More Sex, And Eliminate Fighting In Your Relationship...

You may have some idea about the theory of fixing a broken marriage, but if you are experiencing it, you’re probably wondering how you can apply that knowledge to your situation.

You may feel like your marriage is a lost cause, but don’t give up hope because you can fix a broken marriage. Thousands of couples do it all over the world, and so can you. All it takes is commitment and doing the work to bring back from imminent divorce.

Read on to find out how you can get started repairing the damage in your relationship.

1. Remember Why You are Together in the First Place

Think back to when you first started dating and what made you so enamoured with your partner all those years ago. They are still the same person, but the stresses of life have made you forget how much fun you used to have together.

2. Figure out What is Causing the Rift

Life can get in the way of a happy relationship. You get married, have some kids, and then fall into a routine that doesn’t leave much time for doing couple stuff. When you stop spending quality time together, you can feel disconnected and start to drift apart. Spend some time figuring out where things have gone awry. Your challenges could lie in:
  • A stressful event
  • A cheating partner
  • A lack of affection
  • A lack of communication
When you understand what’s causing the rift, repairing it can be a lot more straightforward.

3. Learn to Listen

Instead of talking AT one another, try listening to each other’s concerns. Your partner is more likely to tell you their innermost feelings when you show genuine interest because they know you care. Show your understanding by making the occasional comment, and pay attention to body language and visual cues. Don’t let your emotions get in the way of listening to your partner’s issues. Set them aside and focus on understanding what your partner is telling you.

4. Don’t Get Distracted

It’s easy to fall into the trap of letting kids, work, and all manner of responsibilities get in the way of a perfectly good marriage. You have so much on your plate it can feel almost impossible to get together in any meaningful way. However, spending quality time together is integral to repairing your marriage. Otherwise, you are in danger of becoming two strangers living in the same house. It’s no way to spend a marriage, and your relationship will struggle if you don’t take steps to connect in a meaningful way.

5. Reconnect

Get out your calendars and pencil in some quality time together. It might seem like a lifetime ago, but you remember how much fun candlelit dinners, movie dates, and picnicking in the park used to be. Get some of those activities back into your life with some regularity. If your marriage has turned into all work and no play, it’s no wonder there’s a rift growing between you. Hire a babysitter or drop the kids off at mum and dad’s and go out and have some fun like you used to do when you were young.
