It’s like shooting for an unreal goal. Marriage is messy, and yes, my wife and I are in the marriage ministry, but that doesn’t mean we don’t fight. We just have ways to recover quickly. It doesn’t mean we don’t have problems with each other. We just don’t dwell on them for decades. We have all the same problems and challenges as everybody else, but we recognize them, confess them, get them out of our lives, and move forward quickly. That’s the key. You’re never going to have a perfect marriage, but how you respond to what happens, not what happens, is what determines the level of success and happiness that you experience.
